with Marco, Simon Korsak, David Joe Rooster, Richie and Emilio Diena. Introducing Indra. Dedicated to Lou Reed out there on the wild side.
(Below) Matt and Indra performing on a Friday at sunset in the old port of El Cotillo, on the coast just down the road from Lajares. Beautiful sunsets out West over the Atlantic there… Clear clean air.
Inma joined Marina, Marco, Ricardo, Fernando and Jagan at the Canela Jam session on Wednesday September 18th and came out with the following improvised sound we’re calling “Caravan to Lajares”, since Inma and Ricardo (“Richie”) are two components of the band that has been performing in the North of Fuerteventura under the name ‘Le Caravan’ in different configurations with the same essential components for several years now (and the rest of the guys have been working together with Arid Island here in Lajares, Fuerteventura)…
This is Inma, voice; Marco, electric guitar; Richie, bass guitar; Jagan, bongos; Fernando, drums. A thrilling session featuring here Inma’s inspired Mediterranean sound which then segues…: Jam improvisation: “Caravan to Lajares”: (Lajares Jazz):
Sample: 05-Jun-2013 ambient sound recording of jam improvisation: “Let’s Do It”: (jazz dance):
The Canela Jam Band gets together every Wednesday evening at the Canela Café in Lajares. Based around the nucleus powered by the Tri-Fin trio, but with Marco usually playing the trumpet, flugelhorn, sax and melódica, for example, and swinging to the guitars and voices of Powlean and Korsak and to the voices of regular singers such as Marina, Mónica, Noemi and Eva (and semi-residents and visitors such as Emma), it is frequently joined by guest musicians of, we think you’ll agree, considerable calibre.
